About

IMG_9189I have worked in healthcare both as a dental hygienist and as a registered nurse for a combined total of 20 years. Although both of these careers have offered me the opportunity to learn and grow both professionally and personally, I have always yearned to do something more for others. In my experience through working with people, it is evident that we live in a fast-paced, highly stressful time, which has an impact on our day to day health and happiness. I had experienced these feelings of stress in my life as well, which is what lead me to take my first yoga class approximately 9 years ago. I initially went to a class because I felt it would help me with my physical aches and pains, which it did. However, as I continued to practice yoga, I discovered that it also allowed me a space and time to breathe and to calm my mind. As the years have passed, I have been able to reap the benefits of my yoga practice, not only on my mat, but also in my life. The transformation in me lead me to become a yoga instructor.

I completed my 200 hour teacher training certification at YogaOne Studio in Cedarburg, WI in June of 2016.  It is my ultimate goal as a yoga instructor to bring wellness, joy, and a sense of calm into every life I am able to touch. Happy Hart Yoga LLC was created to allow me the opportunity to offer small classes and private sessions in my home studio. The intimate setting provides an environment in which I can get to know each student, offer a safe and fun practice, and observe every students’ growth and transformation.  In addition to teaching out of my home studio, I have partnered with my friend and mentor, Kimberly Manthey, to create Happy Feet Retreats LLC.  Our mission is to offer destination yoga retreats in fun and exciting towns and countries, which will give both adventurers and yogis an opportunity to experience a new place, and to challenge themselves to grow in a different way.

I look forward to the opportunity to share the practice and philosophy of yoga with many people, and am so grateful for the joy, peace and happiness it has already offered my body, mind and spirit.
